Our half-day courses for beginners or improvers are held in our working candle making workshop situated in a rural farm out-building near Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. Courses start at 10am and finish at 1.30pm. See our glowing reviews. You will learn four different candle making techniques and take home six beautiful candles worth over £20. The course is ideal for those who are completely new to candle making or who have made a start at home and would like some further tuition. Courses are run in a relaxed and fun atmosphere with plenty of practical making! The tutor, Rob Aley has over 15 years professional candle making experience and can offer advice on all technical, creative and business aspects of candle making. His book 'Candle Making For Profit' will be available at a discounted price. Groups are kept small making a degree of individual tuition possible and the workshop space is large and airy which allows for COVID-19 social distancing. The course covers: A. An introduction to equipment and materials; types of wax (paraffin, soya, sterine, beeswax and wax additives), also wicks, dyes, scents. B. Making 2 scented and coloured container candles in glasses. C. Making 2 decorative moulded candles, using both rubber and solid moulds, including making a beeswax candle. D. Making dipped dinner candles and shaping them creatively.
